EAX20 DNS - This site can't be reached

I have a strange problem that I solved, but I'm still not sure what's wrong and support was not much help.

The other day we had a power outage, my wifi bridge (EAX20) and PC shut down after my UPC ran out of power, my router (T-Mobile 5G) shut down immediately. This is when my problems started, although everything seems to be working normally otherwise.

The only symptom I had were some websites would not load (this site can't be reached error) which points to a DNS issue, I did all the troubleshooting steps on my main computer (PC1) but the problem was replicated on another computer (PC2), both running W10. I hardwiried PC2 to the router which fixed all issues and narrowed my troubleshooting to the bridge.

I tried resetting the bridge, downgrading firmware to last version, upgrading firmware to current version, none helped. Then I went to the IP address settings and used the following static IP settings:

IP address 192.168.12.104 (taken from the devices section of my router)

IP subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway IP address 192.168.1.250

Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 (google DNS)

This fixed my problem, I don't know why or how but if someone experiences the same issue hopefully this helps you. If someone wants to explain why this worked or tell me how I can switch back to dynamically getting my IP from the router that would be great.
