EAX80 issues

Good evening,

I am currently encountering some issues with my EAX80 extender, and was wondering if I could get some help, please.

I recently upgraded my main router, from an older R7000 to a top-of-the-line (*I hope*) RAXE500.

Since the upgrade, when attempting to get my EAX80 to extend my 2.4G and 5G networks, I cannot seem to be able to extend the both of them, with each their separate, corresponding, correct password.

What happens is that, whichever of the two networks I select, I get to input its password, and then the extender applies that password to both networks, even though they originally (from the router) have different passwords.

This unfortunately is highly problematic for me, as whatever I do, some of my devices will not work, when I am in range of the extender, any more.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Do we have any fixes for this behavior?

Thank you in advance!

The EAX80 is a mesh extender that does band steering.

If you're not wanting to use its mesh features, you'll need to install it using the installation assistant and uncheck the one wifi and smart connect features.

Is there a reason you're disabling them on your RAXE?

I've got my RAXE500 running with smart connect and the same with my EAX80 and its seamless and fast.
