EAX80 limited to 20mb...
I have a few nighthawk products. I just bought my third, an EAX80. I previously had only a ac4000 and upgraded the wireless with a ex8000. That combo worked pretty good. I got full speeds through there. I thought I would buy the newer wifi speced model since I plan to upgrade to ax/wifi6 at some point in the near future. I just received this in the mail and man the speed is abysmal on wireless. My ISP has me on a 400/20 plan. With wireless for my router and the other extender, I get full pass through speeds. I keep checking with this extender, and its 20/17, unless I am hard lined into it. This doesn't seem close to working properly. I checked to see if I was getting stomped on by other wireless signals, the closest signal strength is 30db lower in the 5ghz spectrum on a similar channel. I do notice this EAX80 is a much narrower band than the actual router I have. Going from 400 to 20 download is just aweful.
Are there any solutions that I could try to aleviate this. Would a wifi 6/ax router fix this? I know enough about wifi to get into trouble, but not fix all my problems. Any help is appreciated.

I think there are massive problems with the EXA80.
If I have a device connected via 5ghz wireless to my Nighthawk X10 R9000 that is on the other side of the house through a number of walls...I get a speedtest result of 476Mbs. Connecting the same device to the EAX80 just feet away results in speedtest download results of 2Mbs.
Despite the fact that the device reports the wireless connection as excellent and the extender's 5ghz connection to the main router as being over 1700Mbs and providing up to 2400Mbs from the extender to devices.
Half the time devices that are just feet away from the extender prefer to connect to the main router despite a weak signal.
So I think there are a massive issues that Netgear seems to have ignored with the EAX80.
I don't know that adding any additional hardware would solve the issues.
I just replaced the EAX80 with another EX8000 like I had before. Now I'm back to decent connection speeds that I would expect.
The EAX80 just seems to be garbage.
