EX2700 direct ethernet connect to router?

So I'm not getting the fast internet Mbps with my EX2700, as I do with my directly connected router.

My connection is 60+Mbps, but I'm getting 2-3mbps with my other devices when connected to the Netgear Extender.

I was wonder if I can connect directly from my router to my EX2700 using my ethernet cable, that way I get the best connection between the two right?

So I tried it, but devices doesn't seem to get stuck at configuring IP address.

Is there a way to do this? The Extender goes super far, but my main router doesn't. I want to just place the extender right next to my router and connect it with the ethernet cord.

Please show me the way

  • Unfortunately, none of the 2000 series of Netgear extenders can be connected to the router via Ethernet. See page 30 of the manual.

You will have to move up to the 3000, 6000 or 7000 series extenders.

Having said that, 2-3 Mbps is pretty bad. Have you tried changing Wi-Fi channels? You also want to place the extender so that it's approximately mid-way between the router and clients. If it's too close to the router, then clients may not be able to connect to it. If it's too close to the clients, then it may not be able to connect to the router.

I have just learned that while all extenders can function as wireless APs, the EX6200 and the WN3500RP cannot function as wired APs. All of the other 3000, 6000 and 7000 series extenders support wired AP. Sorry for any confusion.
