Now resolved. In my opinion.... If you have this problem, especially with a Technicolour router, go onto your device and delete or forget the connection to the extender you made. Then plug in the extender and stick a paperclip end into the factory reset hole to reset it. Then go to page 10 and follow the guide for the installation assistant. That worked for me.
