Hi LeoMuseum, you can try and go through the factory reset procedure. If successful, you should have the option to configure the extender like new. Page 34 of the user manual linked below may help.

Thanks Dexter - that solution, so obvious when you say it, just hadn't intruded on my consciousness. I'll have a go when I am next in the Museum.
