EX3700 bridge works, but i can't access it or update firmware

I've had this since December 2017, has always worked great, signale in house always good.
I have a Dual Band router (each band with a different name) and a deadbeat roommate that doesn't want to pay his half of the internet.  His stuff likes the 5 GHz band, so i slowed it down and today i changed the password on the 2.4 GHz.  When i did the reboot on my router, i noticed the bridge didn't show the EXT for the 5 GHZ.  So, I figured it was a good time to log in and update the Firmware, just in case before i reboot it.
But when trying www.mywifiext.net and 192.168.1.250,  both say that i'm not connected.  I was first on an Android phone, then a wireless Win10 laptop, then to the Win10 desktop.  I've cleared every cache, tried Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge and they all say not connected.  I also did the reset on the bridge Twice, hoping to get something back.
But my phone, laptop and older tablet, will log into the 2.4 GHz EXT like it always has.
I've even tried plugging in a network cable to the bridge, and still nothing connects to it.

I was starting to think that maybe the signal is just bogus, that the bridge is showing a signal, but since i'm in the same room with my router, the signal is coming from the stronger source.  In my garage, the router signal is weak, but the bridge has been great....and that is still the same today.
Oh, and one more thing.  This is even wierder.  So the Extended dual bands are supposed to be "_2EXT" or "_5EXT" of whatever those bands are called and before today, they were.  But here is what i got now (not my actual band names):
2.4 GHz band: WTF
           bridged: WTF_2EXT

5 GHz band: FRIDAY

bridged: WTF_5EXT (using the same password as the other WTFs).

What the heck happened? Any ideas?  Is this thing working but just walking in circles with a sprained leg or something?

  • What, can't just delete my post?  Well, maybe it'll help someone else as i seemed to help myself, lol.

So, for **bleep**s and giggles, i restored my Router to factory.  Actually, i updated the Firmware, then realized the date on it, yep, basically just did a reset.  I really should have had breakfast first.
So, after i set the router back up, put the band info & passwords in again (and throttled the band my deadbeat roommate uses) and even setup the Guest login, don't know why i didn't have that up before, i did the reboot on the Router.
And while that whas doing that, i rebooted my Modem and PC, just clear all the crap.
I brought the bridge (EX3700) back into the room, hit the reset button, read the setup instructions again (i really do need food), and proceeded.  And it went flawlessly.
I'm back to the way it's supposed to be.  The bridge shows the extended bands correctly, i logged into them and they work great.

So, the moral of the story: Reset everything.  Oh, and be sure you don't do any of this stuff while sleep deprived (which maybe what caused half of my problems) or overally hungry after sleeping for 11+ hours.

      BUT WAIT!

I still can't get accees to my Netgear bridge.
I have tried following all the suggestions.

I entered mywifiext.com and it says i'm not connected.  I entered 192.168.1.250 only to get This Site Can't be Reached.  I tried connecting via a brand new, never used before, Ethernet cable and assigned a static IP, and still, it could not find it.

There is an old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  Guess that'll have to do for me as it looks as though i can't connect and won't be able to ever update the firmware
