When setting up my EX6120 wifi range extender with both 2.4 & 5 GHz wireless bands connected to my router, only one band on the extender will accept devices. On the other band, devices stay connecting... for 10 seconds before failing.
If I connect the extender to the router using only one band, then the extender will accept connections on both bands.
I have factory reset both my router and extender, and ensured the router, extender and devices are within range.
Is this normal behaviour?

9 years later and remarkably this bug in the EX6120 still exists in the latest firmware. When the extender is configured to connect to the router over both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, clients can only connect to the extender via one band.
When the extender is configured to connect to the router over only one band, clients can connect to the extender via both bands.
I wasted a lot of time before I eventually found this post, which is frustrating to say the least. But well done tsheeley for identifying the issue.

Mods put your thread together. I just commented. Had it removed. If it's not EoL. I presumed incorrectly.
- triaticMar 12, 2025AspirantI see. Two of the posts in this thread are now completely unrelated to the topic title now, so I'm unsure what has been achieved here.
