My netgear EX6120 is brand new straight out the box. It has been setup and connected to my router. The extender network won’t accept the correct password and I can’t login to the extender network sett...

Hi, I used WPS initially and the extender connected to my Vodafone router, but when I tried to join the extended network it would not accept the correct WiFi network password. I have done a factory reset and tried setting up using the assistant method, which has worked in so far as it accepted the password for both 2GEXT & 5GEXT extended networks, but only the 2GEXT network is giving internet access. I can connect to the 5GEXT network but I can’t access the internet, but that maybe an issue with my router/network.

Two questions, what does "would not accept" look like? Messages? Errors?
And did you clear the login credentials for the device and set up the link afresh?

Good thinking. Does your unnamed router produce any logs that could tell you what the router is up to?
As plemans says, it might help if you said what that router is. Perhaps also the modem/ONT/gateway that sits between the router and the Internet.
- Ricardo1872Feb 23, 2024AspirantIt just kept saying password was incorrect when trying to connect via WPS. It worked using the assistant method though. The bit about the router, I’ve no idea what that means. It’s a standard WiFi router/hub that was issued to me by my ISP Vodafone. Other than that I don’t know ‘what kind’ of router it is. I’ve also no idea how I would access router logs. I am able to use the 2GEXT extended network but the 5GEXT won’t connect to the internet. Thanks everyone.

The Event log usually keep a record of things going on, like blocking access to the Internet.

Is the EX6120 broadcasting 5 GHz?
Did you take it through the WPS process to connect to the 5 GHz broadcast?
This is explained in the bit in the manual (see above) Connect to an Existing WiFi Network.
Like your router the EX6120 also has a browser interface that you can use to connect. See the bit in the manual Connect With Web Browser Setup
