EX6130 AC1200 does not give IPv4 address/connexion

I upgraded and configured my EX6130 repeater.

The repeater is connected to my router.

My computer is connected to the repeater but is only given an IPv6 address.

My computer is not given an IPv5 address.

I can access websites such as google which are in IPv6 but no website in IPv4.

If I connect directly to my router, I get an IPv4 address and can access any website IPv4 or IPv6.

I cannot find any option on the repeater to configure anything about IP.

I figured the router would be responsible for giving an IPv4 address to the computer.

I suspect a bug on the repeater.

Does anyone have any idea how to get an IPv4 address again on my computer.

Note: This behavior appeared suddenly, I used the repeater for more than a year without issue.

  • Hi,  nbarbey

To resolve this, ensure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically by checking network settings and enabling DHCP. Restart both your computer and the EX6130 repeater, as a simple reboot can often fix connectivity issues. Make sure your EX6130 repeater has MyCenturas the latest firmware by checking for updates on the Netgear website. If the issue persists, consider performing a factory reset on the repeater and reconfiguring it. Additionally, check your router settings to ensure it provides both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

  • IPv4 connection issues can be tricky! Check if DHCP is enabled on your router and extender. A reset or firmware update for the EX6130 might also resolve the problem. Hope you get it sorted soon!
