EX6200 AC1200 Connection Problem - Please Help

I have been using the EX6200 AC1200 for a couple years now and all has been good. Lately I have been having some latency issues and decided to take a look and see if I could change the band it was on, 5G to 2.4G. It had me update to a new firmware as well when I accessed it. When I attempted to change the band, it screwed up everything and I no longer can connect to the internet. I have tried to reset the device multiple times and it creates the 2GEXT and a 5GEXT even though I unselect the 5G band. Regardless after it sets up both EXTs I then connect to one, log in and I get "The extender cant connect to the router." It shows a green path for both 2.4 & 5 from the wifi extender, but nothing between the extender and the router. What am I doing wrong? I know the router is fine because I am still able to connect directly to it and access the internet. Please help, this is driving me crazy. Thanks everyone.

What firmware did you update to?

maybe something was corrupted during the update. I'd try re-doing the update over a hardwired connection. do it manually. Once its update, then factory reset it.

After the reset, move the extender closer to the router (same room) to do the setup. You can always move it further away when you're done.

When you say "see if I could change the band it was on", do you mean which band your device is on, disabling a radio, or using netgears fastlane setup?

Here's your support site with firmware, manuals, and installation instructions. make sure select the correct version from the drop down as there are 2 versions of the ex6200.
