My extender was working perfectly until there was a power cut and now the Router Link LED is not lighting. what do I do?
Thanks
Thank you for your responses.
Actually the solution turned out to be very simple. Because the problem started after a power cut and obviously my router and extender re-started immediately power resumed, the extender couldn't connect to the router because it was still booting up. before committing to a factory reset I turned off both router and extender, re-started the router and after it was stable switched on the extender and everything worked beautifully.
I hope this might help someone else who experienced problems after a power cut.

Other LEDs OK?
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
Check the section in the manualFAQs and Troubleshooting
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads. For more help with this device, try the appropriate community section:

Have checked Manual and FAQs, factory reset the extender and set it up using the installation assistant.
To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
Here's a video of how to use the assistant.
