EX7000: Are Ethernet ports functional in Access Point mode ?

Please clarify this for me.

Am planning to buy an EX7000 to extend my home network, The EX7000 will be wired to the main router (using one of the Ethernet connection) and configured in access point mode.

I am expecting to be able to connect additional devices to the EX7000 either by WI-FI (the access point mode) or using a wired connections on the remaining 4 ethernet ports.

Can someone clarify what does mean the statement on page 19 of the manual that says: "Note: In access point mode, you can connect your computer or WiFi device to the extender only using a WiFi connection."

I have read some discussion that says that additional wired connections should also work... so could someone clarify if the switch between all 5 ethernet socket still works in AP mode and if yes, what does the "Note" in the manual mean ? Is this an error ???

  • I have this product and in ap mode the smart tv and apple hardline to the ethernet ports does not have an internet connection but the wifi works. Will a firmware upgrade be needed ? Right now I have to agree with the original posters finding.
