EX7000 Extender issues

Hi,

I just bought a EX7000 Nighthawk, set up was pretty simple. It connected to my Vodafone-Ireland SIRO router no problem. I have now placed the Nighthawk in a dead spot on the opposite end of the house, both the 2.4GHz & 5GHz are fully connected and lit up green LEDs. Despite all this my PC is only getting 4mbps and it is connected by Ethernet via the Nighthawk. With that said I am reaching 30/40mbps Upload speeds which tbh I find very bizzare.

In fairness the Nighthawk has boosted WiFi signal in general in aforementioned dead spot but since my PC doesnt have a WiFi receiver I was fully hoping that this would work via Ethernet. Please help, I am very dissapointed :(

Thanks in advance.

FEDR.

Extenders shouldn't be placed where the deadspot is. Usually they should be halfway between where the router is and where the deadspot is. reason why is they need a decent signal to operate from. Have you tried it with the extender closer?

      Hey there,

Well its not strictly 'IN' the dead spot, I worded that incorrectly. The LED indicators for 2.4 & 5Ghz signal are fully Green and even when I check mywifiext is shows full signal strength.

With that said, yes I have tried it closer to the Router. It hasn't really changed anything unfortunately.

What actual router is it connected to?

If you hardwire the extender into the router (rerun setup for access point mode) and test the speeds, what do you get for each band? (checking to ensure the broadcast chips are good)
