EX7300 extender connection and log in issues

Your device don't get "reassigned" to the 5ghz. They are the ones that choose to connect to the 2.4ghz or the 5ghz. the extender doesn't do it. And if they don't have 5ghz, they don't "reassign".
But for sure try reinstalling it. thats always a good plan.
I'd recommend using the installation assistant and not using wps.
The one other thing I'd be cautious of is to make sure not to daisy chain them.
Daisy chain: Router---->extender----->extender
You want them setup in a star configuration.
That'd be:
Extender<--------router-------->router
Much more stable and faster
