I am using a ZTE MF920V 4G portable WIFI modem, I don't have a router. I didn't put what firmware it's using because I don't know. How do I check? The first 3 LED's are solid white, as I don't have ethernet the last one's not lit. Does that matter?
Here's how I set it up using WPS: https://nighthawksetp.com/netgear-nighthawk-ex7700-setup/
It's now listing in my wifi settings, however, there doesn't seem to be any change in my wifi speed. What else do I need to do?

What change are you expecting to see? The ZTE MF920V is a single band wireless N devices.
And is it working?
Did you retry running setup using the installation wizard and not wps?

Yes, the ZTE MF920V is working, but I am getting really poor wifi, PING = 110 ms, Down = 0.88 Mbps, Up = 1.10 Mbps. I thought I could use the nighthawk as an extender and improve the speed. Is that not possible? I have retried running setup using the installation wizard and not wps multiple times, but it didn't seem to make a difference. That's why I switch to wps. Am I waiting my time and money?

Looks like my ISP is restricting my speed, nothing wrong with the setup. See attached.

Those are the speeds directly off the router?
The router is the backbone of the whole system.
If its slow, everything else is going to be too.
