EX7700: can not connect to web UI
The EX7700 extender is connected to a R7800 router on both 2.4G and 5G and the same SSIDs are used for both router and extender. EX7700 is working fine and it's web UI can be accessed fine. However...

Just for information:
The extender experiencing problems only if the router is connected on non DFS channels. In every other occasion it works fine.
Hence my conclusion is it must be a f/w bug. Not sure if it is on the router side or the extender side.

Are you using dfs channels for your router? is that why the 5ghz is changing?
One thing to try is to reinstall the EX7700 but disable the 2.4ghz backhaul. Its a failover option but I've seen it cause more problems than it solves.
I'd also set the primary router to use a set band thats non-dfs and connect the ex7700 to that. Then the extender could use the dfs channels and you wouldn't need to worry about that.

That is correct, the router is using dfs channels.
I have tried to set the router to a non dfs channel(36-48), reset the EX7700 and reconfigure it but then it would not connect to the router!
The only time EX7700 connects to the router(during initialisation after reset) is if the router is set to a dfs channel.
The EX7700 is close to the router during initialisation so there is no distance issue or any obstacles in between.
I am not sure how to disable the 2.4ghz backhaul on the EX7700 as it has not got any options for backhaul?

when you're setting up the extender, are you using wps or the intsallation assistant? try the assistant.
In terms of disabling the 2.4ghz backhaul (the 2.4ghz still works) you just uncheck it during setup with the installation assistant. It'll still work.

I am always using assistant.
The only options I get during the installation steps are when it asks to enable 2.4GHz or 5GHz in order to extend the 2.4GHz or 5GHz of the router. It never mentions any backhaul.
Is this the 2.4GHz you are referring to?
