Questions.
1. What band are they connecting to when speed testing? 2.4ghz is much much slower than 5ghz. and if you have bandsteering enabled, it could be on the 2.4ghz.
2. If your running them in AP mode, what speed do you get hardwired into the extender? (to ensure its getting full speed)

Hi thanks for the swift reply
I actually turned the 2,4 channel of and it made no difference except my daughters iphone 10 would not connect, so after a lot of whining it got turned back on
Good idea with the hard wire i hadnt tried this
I connected a lappy to the ex8000 and was ony getting 20mbps , Connected the lappy direct to the ex8000 suppy and still only 20mbps
Tried a different lead from the router to the lappy and got 200mbps. looks like wire at fault ? (strange as i had already swapped this out and had made no difference)
Reconnected the original ex8000 wire feed to the lappy and was also now 200mbps . connected it back to the ex880 and the lappy through the ex8000 and was still getting 200mbps.
looks like the introduction of the lappy onto the port has triggered something
wifi is now 100mbps
What is really weird in a previous post i have commented i can only see one s8000 not all three , guess what they are all visible for the first time since the ex8000 started working better . work that one out
Massive improvement but still not the full wifi speed

it makes it a bit of a challenge when running the XR500 plus the S8000 switches. The S8000 have their own qos and rate limiting on them.
If you direct connect the EX8000 to the router (without switches) and speedtest, what speeds do you get wirless?
- FinghardOct 10, 2020TutorMorning sorry for the slow reply.
This was with the ex8000 direct to the router
200mbps wired
100mbps wireless
New problem sprung from this though which I didn't notice till the next day. none of my windows devices will now connect wirelessly saying there is a problem with the card driver or reboot router to see if this helps . I will reboot everything again back to standard and start a fresh later today.
As for the switches and router qos they seem to be the only thing that is solid with constant of a minimum of 180mbps .- plemansOct 10, 2020Guru - Experienced User
so you get full speed if the ex8000 is hardwired in?
you put 200mbps wired and 100mbps wireless (is that 2.4ghz or 5ghz? it bandsteers)
