  • Did you install it, or are you waiting for others to take the risk and go first?

I would load FW and then to a full factory reset and setup from scratch to ensure the FW gets installed well and a new configuration is put in place.

  • I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to .192.

Attached devices now show up on the page without having to do a refresh.  A lot more of them are showing as <unknown>, but at least they are showing up.  I will comment about stability in a week or two.

Check the host names on your devices, set a name if you can. Some devices don't support host names.

Let us know how it goes.

After sitting overnight, the EX8000 has the names for all the devices except a roku attached to the network router and an HP printer bridged to the router through an R7000 (i.e. r7000->R7000p->EX8000).  Not terrible, the R7000p is the one that I really need identifying everything correctly and it does.

There are two anomalies: 1) I have a roku ultimate connected to the EX8000, it is on the 1733 5Ghz channel (161) and it shows a connection rate of 6Mbps even though the roku says it is getting 73Mbps download speed and 2) I have an R7000 bridged to the EX8000, it connects to channel 36 - the ex8000 reports a ghost MAC address one less than the MAC of the R7000 (R7000 ends in BC, ghost is same but ends in BB) connected at 6Mbps.  Neither of these anomalies are functional issues.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the EX8000 as an access point.
