We have attempted to reset it to factory mode 4 different times, holding down the button for 5-10 seconds each time and it still appears as the old name. When you're pushing and holding reset, is the device plugged in? When you've held the reset button long enough, the lights will change. its usually 7-15 seconds but some have needed up to 30 seconds.
