extend wifi coverage on farm
I have a netgear router in my home but ready to buy a new one so current model is irrelevant. I have a barn that is located about 300 feet from my house and in direct line of sight (no trees or buil...

Thanks Elaine! Both those options look promising. Regarding the R9000 and EX8000 option the documentation talks about a "dedicated wifi link" between the router and extender or a wired access point connection. For my scenario where the barn is about 300 feet away from my house I assume the router would be in the house and then would I place the extender also in the house but nearest to the barn or actually in the barn itself? For the Orbi kit I'm looking at the AC2200 (with 8000 sq feet coverage) and same question. Do I place one of the 3 satellites in the barn and can the Orbi router communicate that far away (300 feet)? Thanks, in advance.

The articles below perhaps will answer your inquiry.
Where should I place my NETGEAR Wi-Fi range extender?
Where should I place my Orbi satellite?

Good articles and makes sense, although they are geared toward multiple floors in a house instead of a barn 300 feet away from the router. Since I can't put the extender outside in the field between the house and barn I suppose my solution lies in me finding the the most powerful router whose signal can reach to a glass window or opening in the barn where the extender is deployed. then the extender can provide coverage throughout the barn. So I need to know if the Netgear x9000 or Orbi ac2200 routers are powerful enough to send the signal 300 feet through a glass window at my house through open land (no impediments of trees or walls) to an opening in the barn where the extender is located. Does anyone in this community forum have experience with how strong the signal is from an x9000 from 300 feet away with no impediments or can you recommend a different router that is more powerful?
If no router exists, sounds like my only option is an outdoor wifi bridge like this one that sends the signal across external mounted satellite discs?

I hope others can jump in and provide their own personal experience with the same environment as yours.
I guess you can try and see if it works well for you. Look for a store that offers a good return policy.
