Hello theshield,
Thank you for your interest in our products! Tell us a little more about the setup you currently have such as the router or gateway. It'll help us gauge which extender we can recommend for you.

Dear Christian, I have a Netgear AC 1750/R6400 Dual Band . It is located in the basement Mancave , basement is block built . I currently run 6 devices on it split between 2.4 and 5 GHZ . I get some wifi connectivity in the garage , but it disconnects periodically . I need something strong to maintain the signal , due to wanting to install a wifi garage door opener . Chamberlain , said I can install a wifi hub that will help . I am thinking I need an extender rather than a booster . My garage is forty feet from the house . What , would you suggest .
Thank You

Daer Christian, I am currently runing 5 devices between 2.4 and 5 GHZ . My garage is forty feet from the house . Chamberlain corp, said I will probably need a wifi hub in order to strengthen the signal to operate the garage door opener . I think this only draws on the present signal strength , so I am thinking either a wifi booster or an extender . I can play music and limited video on my phone or tablet , but the signal drops periodically . I don't need anything complicated , since I am a disabled vet , I dont have energy every day to reset devices or tinker with cable . What would you suggest ?
Thank You

Hello theshield,
I highly recommend checking out the EX7000! It would certainly pair great with your R6400. I have linked details to the EX7000 below.
