Failed to obtain IP address
so just bought from Amazon and just cannot get it to work.
Every time I set it up I get 'Failed to obtain IP address' when trying to connect.
It will work if I set it up as an access point, and will work if I assign it a static IP however when trying to run by assigning an IP just get error response.
Running firmware version 1.0.0.124
Have tried to get support from Netgear but its just emails going back and forth and dont seem to be getting anywhere.
I am trying to find out if its a problem with my main router (which cannot changed).
Any help?

so after a number of emails to and from Netgear I have decided to give up on this extender. Lost count of the number of factory resets I have done, canging channels, setting up static IP, only allowing 5G, only allowing 2.4G, trying on windows, android and iOS. Nothing works, the extender is faulty but Netgear wont have any of it!
I am sending back to Amazon for a full refund (I hope). Maybe I'll try the TPLink extender instead.
