Firmware Update
So I got notification that my extender needs a firmware update. No biggie, but I've got a question. The release notes say it need a wired connection. I don't mean to sound stupid, but does that mean that both the PC and the extender need to be connected to the modem via ethernet cables, or just the extender?
Thank you for any help.

Hi,
So I also got the message about the firmware update and did it today for the security fixes. Only problem now is that the my password that was used for admin does not work anymore. Also is now saying that admin is invalid but administrator is valid but no password works. I did a "hardware" reset on the box and tried again. No dice.
Does anyone know what the NEW username and password is needed to access the extender? I need to check the configuration.
Thank you.

Hi spearruler,
Default login will be admin for user name and password for password. If you have provided an e-mail address and password during setujp, try that. If it doesn't work, do reset for 30 seconds or a minute which it is powered on and try again.

Hi flutegds,
PC must be wired to the extender. If you don't have a PC, you can attempt it from any hand held devices too.

Thank you for the responses. I ended up trying a second hardware rest with the button in the back and connected directly to the extender. At that point, I went through setting up the device from scratch. You are not asked for a username and password to configure the device the first time, so after doing the setup, I changed the password. For everyones info, the default username was changed to administrator.
Have a great day.
