Firmware upgrade EX3700
My extender is about 13 months old. I downloaded a firmware update from NetGear but can not log in to my Extender.
Totally lost ...

Try a factory reset and set up from scratch with the EX. Once you have it back online, then try to update the FW. I would use a wired PC connected to the main host router to send the FW file to the EX. Besure the EX has good signal before updateing FW.

Thank you for the suggestion.
I have tried your idea without success several times. Reset the FX a couple times.
Connected to my PC through WiFi and then with ethernet.
mywifiext.net always says there in no extender connected.
I am about to throw this netgear away and use another vendor.

Impossible to install firmware upgrade. Downloaded firmware, but now what? Complete runaround from Netgear with page after page of nonsense, but no clear answer. Where, for instance, is the "firmware wizard"? The extender works, but Netgear says it's important to upgrade the firmware. Okay, then make the intallation possible without all the gobbledegook. It's not my job to repair for Netgear's poor programming, or to spend countless hours searching through meaningless, badly written support articles. Next time, no Netgear.

I very much appreciate your response to my EX3700 firmware problem, but the recommended installation simply does not work.
I have logged on to Netgear countless times with my Username, Password, S/N, etc., but no Status Page, Menu icon, Firmware Update, or Check Online ever displays. The extender and router are on the same WiFi network, of course, but the IP address does not connect to the extender.
By poking around I managed to download EX3700‑EX3800‑V1.0.0.76_1.0.49.zip. The file can be extracted, but then what? There are absolutely no instructions on what to do with the extracted files.
Netgear stresses how important it is to keep the extender firmware updated. Then make it possible. If Microsoft can automatically install updates to Win 10, Netgear ought to be able to do the same thing.

Try loggin into the EX with a different web browser, try IE11, Firefox or Opera.
