Getting Two Nighthawk EAX80 to Play Nice Together
I bought two Nighthawk EAX80 WiFi mesh extenders a year ago, directly from Netgear, because they supposedly can work meshed. Of course on day 91, the day after the warranty expired, they stopped playing nicely together. At least once a week we have to restart one or both to restore WiFi access in the house.
Prior responses here were 1) "get Orbis, they really work"; 2) "your Netgear router is two years old, how do you live with that thing?"; and 3) "disable the mesh".
After putting up with this for nine months, I'm ready to try #3. How do I change the SSID on one of them so that they stop conflicting? The Nighthawk app on my phone doesn't seem to give me that ability, or I just can't figure it out.
Thanks in advance for your help.

this is how you disable the one wifi feature (mesh).
One other thing you can try is making sure the extenders a far enough away from each other.
Make sure you're setting it up in a star configuration
star: extender<--------router-------->extender
If they're daisy chained or to close, they can end up connecting to each other and not back to the main router.
Forgive me for being literal, but there is NO "One WiFi Name" radio button. And I already have different SSID's for the 5GHz and 2.4GHz SSID's on the router and each of the two Nighthawk's, giving me six SSID's.
I DID disable the "Enable Smart Connect" radio button on both devices. We'll see if that solves the problem.
