How I configured my WN3000RP

Okay, here is my issue, somewhat similar to previous posts.
I have a Linksys WRT54GL Wireless Broadband Router and bought the NetGear WN3000RP.
I am currently using WEP (will change after reading the secuirty issues with this).
When I setup the extender, I log in and enter the information (but I did not put the WEP info in Box1 ? and put in pass phrase.) And I also select for the extender to use same name and SSID rather than the _EXT name. So when I try and access the network, all devices are redirected and asked to log in the mywifiext.net page. I then went back through setup and added the extendedr with the _EXT name and the same thing happens on all devices with the mywifiext.net page.
