How to configure WGT624 v4 as access point?
I have high speed internet in my house, distributed to several computers over wireless, and it works fine.
I have a garage / office building about 100 feet from the house, and I can receive wireless in there on my laptop, but those little USB plug-in wireless receivers for my desktops don't reach it well enough. It isn't practical to run an ethernet line out to the building.
Someone just gave me a WGT624 v4 wireless 4 port router as partial payment for a job I did, and I was told by some computer people that I could set this thing to RECEIVE the wireless signal from the house, and use the 4 ethernet ports to run internet acess to the desktop computers in the office area.
He said that was called "setting it as an access point". I don't know.
Can this work, and is there a guide anywhere here that shows me how to set it up?
Thanks!:)

- jmizoguchiVirtuosouse power line devices is one options.
- Tim_KAspirantThat is not an option either. I need to be able to receive / send through the access point. Can this be done, and is there a step by step guide somewhere to setting it up?
- jmizoguchiVirtuosopower line device with wireless built-in or
get power line devices and attach WGT as an access point - Tim_KAspirantEach building is wired to the power utility service seperately, there is no power line going between the 2 buildings. I know it sounds dumb, but I didn't design the place.
Any other ideas? - jmizoguchiVirtuosoLook at open-mesh.com
