I can't extend the wifi signal of a WAX610 with an AX1600 Wifi Extender
Hello, I am trying to set up an AX1600 as a wifi extender to my closest Wax610 access point. The nighthawk app finds the Wax610 powered network ok (both 2.4 and 5) but when I enter the wifi passwords...

Factory reset the AX1600 and install it with the installation assistant and not the app.
To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
Here's a video of how to use the assistant.

OK it seems to indicate that it has worked this time (no password error!):
However I checked for a firmware update and it says:
So is it set up correctly?
Thank you!

what firmware version are you on? You can manually log in and look and upgrade if needed.
You might be getting the "no internet" because you're using business grade access point. I don't know what setting you're using on that or your main gateway.

Got it - thank you. Yes I'm on the latest firmware but was worried about the message. Thank you very much for your help! Andrew

OK even though it says it's connected to he Internet - it is not as when devices roam to it, they have no internet access. So unless there are any other ideas then no, you cannot extend a Wax610 network with an AX1600 - despite on the box it saying it works with your existing wifi (which is also netgear).
