I can't extend the wifi signal of a WAX610 with an AX1600 Wifi Extender

Hello, I am trying to set up an AX1600 as a wifi extender to my closest Wax610 access point. The nighthawk app finds the Wax610 powered network ok (both 2.4 and 5) but when I enter the wifi passwords...

    Factory reset the AX1600 and install it with the installation assistant and not the app. 


    To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.

OK it seems to indicate that it has worked this time (no password error!):

 

 

However I checked for a firmware update and it says:

 

So is it set up correctly?
