Internet Download Speeds with WNR2000
We recently upgraded our Internet package and are supposed to receive download speeds of 20 mbps. When plugged directly into the modem I get 19.7. I get that a wireless connection is going to be slower, but when going through the Netgear Router on wireless I've never been over 5. Avg. is 2.8-3.2. Are there settings that could help improve my download speeds? Or is the equipment itself hindering things?
Here's what I've got now:
Modem - Arris TG862 (from TWC)
Router - Netgear Wireless N WNR2000
Computer - Toshiba Satellite E105 series
Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN
Network Connection speed - 11 mbps
Latest speed test: 3.1/2
Router settings:
Channel - 11 (least crowded in area on test)
Mode - up to 54mbps
Enable Wireless Router Radio - yes
Enable SSID Broadcast - yes
Enable WMM - no
Frag length - 2304
I generally work in the room next to the router's location. There is a wall, but actual distance is probably 15 ft.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

- jmizoguchiVirtuosoLook at wireless mode. B/G
- hultenlkAspirantChanged to wireless mode b/g. But still can't get "Enable WMM" to stick on the Netgear admin page.
Thanks again, June, for all your advice. I feel like there has to be a setting that's off somewhere, but I'm running out of places to look. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoI meant You listed wireless mode B-G
It should be 300Mbps in router setting - jmizoguchiVirtuoso
Wireless Mode - .802.11 a/b/g
This will cause issues... you need to be in N speed over 150Mbps and up.
change to 300Mbps
