Is an EAX15 (AX1800) Nighthawk Extender compatible with an Orbi 770 System?

Question

I purchased&nbsp;an EAX15 (AX1800) Nighthawk Extender to use with my Orbi 770 system a few months ago.&nbsp;&nbsp; I understand I won't be getting Wifi 7 from the extender -- its purpose is to get decent Wifi 6 coverage outdoors.&nbsp; Since I installed it, the extender has worked intermittently.&nbsp; Over the last few days, it stopped working.&nbsp; I have reset it as a new extender multiple times but the issue remains&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Should this setup work consistently?&nbsp; If so, is it possible the unit is defective?&nbsp;Thanks for any assistance.&nbsp;

Is it compatible, as in will it integrate with the system? No.&nbsp;
Would it work? Sure. how are you setting it up? WPS, installation assistant?&nbsp;
What are the leds on it doing?&nbsp;
Are you setting it up with the same ssid as the router/satellites?&nbsp;

Thanks.&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm setting it up as an extender to the main Orbi 770 system, using same SSID/PW as main system.&nbsp; It's working now, but who knows for how long.&nbsp; It just seems to conk out regularly - the red LED comes on and, sometimes, it goes back to green on its own&nbsp; No real rhyme or reason to it. .&nbsp;&nbsp;

1. What led goes red?&nbsp;
2. The problem with connecting an extender to a mesh system is sometimes it can change its connection from router to satellite or to a different satellite and cause drops/decreased performance. Its why it usually isn't recommended.&nbsp;
3. If it was as simple as just buying extenders to connect to an orbi router, everyone would just buy a router and a bunch of cheap extenders. You might have to switch it to its own ssid/password for stability. Have you tried that?

The top led red means its rebooting. Maybe you have a bad outlet that its plugged into causing it to reboot.&nbsp;
