Is Powerline 500 compatible with Powerline 1000?

Hello Community, I've already 2 couple of Poweline 500 at my home (that have multiple ground).

One of the XWN5001 is now dead.

I'd like to buy 1 PL1000.

Question:are the 2 Powerline compatible and can work together? Do they create 2 networks with different names?

Thanks

Yes, the Netgear Powerline 500 and 1000  HomePlug AV standard products are compatible, but will operate at the slowest device level standard:

"HomePlug AV 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1000 Mbps, 1200Mbps and 2000 Mbps coexist and are interoperable with each other, but at the speed of the slowest plugs."

Thank you Sensei, also for the link...very clear.

Final question: the 2 Powerlines, the 2 WIFI ones, do they create 2 different wireless network names?

and when I move in my house from one place to another, each device need to switch between the 2 networks based on signal intensity?

      Thanks
