hardwiring should make a difference. The current asus wifi cards are only 2x2 cards. So they'd be the bottleneck.
The hardwiring should be faster. what hardwired device did you test with?
What modem do you have?
What firmware is on the router?
What firmware on the extender?

Hardwiring should make a diffenece but it didn't. Using the 1Gb LAN on the motherboard. I have tested it through direct connection ot the router, it is a gagbit port. The Wifi 6 card is the same asus card that gets over 1Gbs when connected to the RAX120 router, so can't be the bottleneck. Modem is CM1150V (link aggregation to the RAX120 router). Router firmware is in the original post, V1.2.0.16. The extender's is the latest (don't know the version, the extender is happily traveling on its way back to Netgear as of this morning).
