Knight Hawk X10 AD7000 vs Orbi AC3000 Tri Band Wifi System

Hi,

I am planning to buy a wireless router today. I've narrowed it down to either the Knighthawk X10 or the Orbi AC3000.

My bigest issue is multi devices so I thought Knight hawk was best solution, but we live in a rocky valley area in Connecticut. so some areas in my house have been spotty. We dont have cable and only stream off our phone or netfix, Amazon Apple TV.

My home is 3600SF so the wifi mesh system would work.

Basically, which is better for 3600SF and multi devices but where we stream all our content??

My home is similar size (~3500 square feet, three floors, wooden construction).  A single Nighthawk isn't enough to get whole house coverage at 5 Ghz.  I was using the R8000 at the time, but the model doesn't matter much since the limitation here is the power limit set by the FCC (and also the power in the client WiFi radios).

Orbi does give me whole-house coverage @ 5 ghz, and the wifi speed is more than enough for Netflix streaming.  I'm also using the RBK50.

I doubt that the outside terrain makes any difference here.  Generally it's stuff inside the home that is blocking (or in some cases interfering) with the wifi signal.

In my case there is a central chimney and a plumbing stack that both seem to block the signal.  Newer homes often have metal studs instead of wooden ones, and those certainly can block wifi.

      Thank you!

Thats what I was worried about. Although the issue with multiple devices streaming aqt same time is still a concern. Basically kids stream in one room, my husband and I in another. As long as Orbie can handle thats what I think I'll go with!
