Looking for alternative to android phone wifi hotspot

As an alternative to using my Android phone's built-in Wifi hotspot, I am looking for a way to get phone's Internet onto my Mac desktop. Could the Wifi hotspot in one of your products help? Would I have to connect the phone by WAN or LAN?

    Go to the Netgear website, select "For Home", and then "Mobile Broadband" - you'll find three product categories "Hotspots", 3G or 4G & "Mobile Connections from your USB Port". As they say - pick your poison.

    Mobile broadband router only accepts specific USB 3G/4G dongle and not smart phone as mobile broadband connection for these router to work

    So if you are looking to use smart phone data to be share sing router would not work.

    You can use device like ex. wnce2001/wnce3001 and connect your extender to your smart phone and then you can connect regular router to that may work
