Model C7000 Nighthawk AC 1900

Can someone tell me if the nighthawk AC 1900 Wi-Fi cable modem router model number C7000 can be used as a Wi-Fi extender?
I have Comcast Xfinity as my Internet and Wi-Fi provider. I have an Xfinity modem router already set up and with multiple TVs in multiple rooms. Some of the rooms on the far end of the house have low or weak Wi-Fi signal. I received this as a gift and wonder if I can use as a Wi-Fi extender or if I actually need to exchange for true Wi-Fi extenders.

If this will work, can I use this product just by plugging it in without ethernet? Can this product find the Wi-Fi and extend it? I was not planning on putting the extenders in rooms where there is ethernet cables unless that is required. Sorry for the long explanation and thanks for any help.

The C7000 doesn't have built in function for extender/repeater mode.

Potentially you could gimmick something up but it'd be a pain. You'd be better off to exchange it for a device designed as a repeater/extender. You'll get better performance, better stability, and end up appreciating the device and not regretting it everytime you change a network setting.
