My EX6100 "can not connect"
This is NOT a mesh, or Nighthawk. I have a NETGEAR EX6100 Extender. I have a desktop using Win7 Pro 64/ I have a Arris SBG6580 Router, and using a Modem supplied by Spectrum. I have a NETGEAR EX6100 (Gateway) I use, to extend my signal to other devices. like (TV's, or android.) When it's powered on, so with it powered on, I go back to computer, in my URL ....192.168.0.5, then I get this message...Or, mywifi dot net, "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network" Then a drop down list all models except for mine. I restarted the computer, then tapped on CHROME, but it never would connect, I tried Internet Explorer, so I knew I had internet. I removed CHROME in ADD/REMOVE programs, and reinstalled CHROME. I had it again. Somewhere I read to go to the Control panel> Firewall Allowable progtasms, then to uncheck CHROME, then restart, but it started downloading the device driver for my gatewat EX6100. So, I'm confused.
I have Spectrum Internet with 30Gb, It's ok, not the best wifi, my SBG6580 Router over heats several times per day! It's on a desk, away from my Modem, and has about 8" clearance all around it, so Why does it over heat, causing spotty signals, watching the timer go round and round, and when it gets stuck at 29, then I unplug my gatewat netgear 6100, the power plug on Arros router, and I used to also, unplug my ethernet cable, let both cool for five minutes, then I can watch network again...until it overheats again. I do not think overheating is normal. If I want to watch a network like YouTube, I first need to unplug my router I have three networks. (1) The main HOME network, (2) My GUEST network, and (3) my GATEWAY EX6100's SSID...xxx 1_2EXT. which I use for the back TV's and android, it seems to have a stronger signal than the other two. which living in a mobilehome, I ran three (3) 75 feet of Ethernet Cat5, and that is connected to my ARRIS SBG6580. So, the only time I ever see my EX6100 gateway (SSID's) network name, is when my extender is powered on, when off, I only see the other two networks.
So, to not see that erroer page, telling me, "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network"
IT'S ASKING ME TO PUT THE CORRECT USER AND PASSWORD, AND IT HAS TO BE ON THE SAME NETWORK AS MY 6100 EXTENDER, BUT IFORON THE MOTOROLA PAGE, IT ONLY LISTS THE TWO HOME AND GUEST NETWORKS, NEVER DO I SEE THE ex6100, SO, WHICH NETWORK AND PASSWORD ARE THEY ASKING ME TO LOG IN MY NETGEAR PAGE?
I am able to see this network in my WIFI connections on my android Galaxy device. But in my list of available networks on my android, I never can see this 6100 in my list, unless it's powered on.. I go to Control panel, then look at the map, I can see it on the bottom of the page.Everything was working fine, then I tried to update my old firmware, I downloaded the files, saved to my desktop.
I told you I was confused. If you have any ideas, I can surely use them. Thank You!
Maybe I need to ask, If I get to that, CAN NOT CONNECT PAGE, IT SAYS, CHECK YOUR PROXY SETTINGS....??
Too bad it's out of warranty, and I certainly can not afford a $39.00 support fee.
