N300 EX2700 connected and secured, but no internet

I have the Netgear N300 EX2700. I had no trouble setting it up and connecting it to my public xfinity wifi connection. The extender connects to it and it says secured but no internet. When I try to troubleshoot this with Windows 10 it says something like no valid IP address. And when I check ipconfig in command prompt it all says media disconnected and when I had the IP assignment setting set to automatic, I didn't have an IP4V or IP6V Address.

    Before I tried this extender I had a Linksys AC750 extender and I couldn't even get that setup completed, it didn't like xfinity wifi.

      Hi MarlowS,

       

      Please factory reset the extender by pressing on the small black button using a pin for 15+ seconds then join the NETGEAR_EXT wifi network using a phone or laptop. After you connect to the NETGEAR_EXT network with your phone or laptop, browse to www.mywifiext.net and follow the setup instructions.
