N300 wifi extender first time set up being routed to username/password login page

Question

Trying to connect with the installation assistant I have my device connected to netgear_ext and enter the mywifiext.net but redirected to /login page instead of new extender set up page.

Have already tried factory reset no change.

You can try to connect the extender another way to the router. Try to use WPS I linked a KB on how to do this below.
