n300 wifi range extender

Can anyone help, we have just purchased an N300 wifi range extender but having issues connecting on the new ext wifi network, everytime we put our password in it says authentication problem. The router I have is a Technicolor Gateway.

My daughter took it home and it works fine with a sky router so we know the extender does work

Any help / guidance would be appreciated
