N600 - wifi cable Modem Router Model C3700 - having Double NAT type error.

Hello to all! 

         So I recently bought a SETEK wifi Range Extender to help my wifi signal reach my other two rooms. It isn't a huge apartment at all its just that the homes are older and walls are thicker. So, I game and Im getting a "Double Nat Type" error on it and such. so its litmiting my usage of my wifi. we upgraded our wifi to 150 which i know isn't a lot but theres only two of us anyway. bottom line is, i have followed the directions/instructions, to go to, http://www.routerlogin.net,.

 - And tried to enable "Bridge mode" however, every single intruction to the letter is there EXCEPT, the ones talking about turning on "bridge mode". Can anyone plese help me out on this?

 

Just as a refresher i have a: 

-NetGear DOCSIS 3.0/ 8 DS 4 US

- N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router

-MODEL: C3700 

 

And I am trying to connect it to a

-SETEK WiFi Range Extender

    You don't want the C3700 in bridge mode. In bridge mode, it disables the router portion of the C3700. And you need that to connect the extender to. 

    A couple things you can try, when setting up the extender, don't use the wps method. use the installation assistant on the extender. 

    Also, make sure to game on the 5ghz. In apartments, they tend to suffer from interference with other wireless networks. 5ghz has more channels (so less interference), is much faster, and tends to work better because of its limited broadcast distance. 

    What setek did you buy? (model)

    Another thing to keep in mind with extenders is that they drop throughput (speeds) 50%. reason why is they have to send and recieve with the same wireless chip and they can't do both at once. 

    You might find better luck/speeds by centrally locating the router versus adding an extender.
