Solved

Need help extending and boosting wifi signal

I know this subject has been covered before but I can't quite piece it all together.  I just changed my ISP to Century Link.  The modem/Router had to be located in a different place than my old route...

    Note that the X6S extender's model number is EX8000.

     

    The EX7500 is one of the mesh extenders.  It happens to be a plug-in module, instead of free-standing (as the EX8000 is).  However, the EX8000 would of course also work.

    Extenders (by definition) can connect to your router over wifi.  Most (including Netgear's) also have the option of connecting with ethernet.
