Need Recommandation: wifi extender with different password
I want to buy a wifi extender/repeater/booster. My original wifi has no password. I want the extender to build a wifi with different ID and a password. Is there any recommendation? If possible, pleas...
There's a ton of different ones you could get from basic/cheap, to tribands, to AX extenders.

Before that, I'd work on getting security on your primary wifi.
Can NETGEAR EX3800-100FRS or EX3700-100PES does the job? I bought two products from other brands. One cannot connect to a wifi without password. The other one could not set a different password from the original wifi. I want to make sure before purchase. Thank you in advance.

A better description of whats actually going on might help more.
If its a public wifi that needs credential or a portal, a standard extender won't work.

The wifi without password is provided by my student appartment. I bought a security camera of XiaoMi, which requaire a wifi with password.( I am now using my laptop hotspot as an extender temporarily)
Yes, the wifi has a web portal(wifirst portal), but the Tp-link RE200 works normally, except it do not allow me to set a password.( It allow me to set a new SSID).

You'll probably want something like a travel router that supports wisp mode.
Wisp mode allows you to connect to wireless signals with a portal and then rebroadcast your own network.
Some routers will run wisp mode (not netgear's) but most travel routers do.
Again, not all so its worth reading through their description for that mode.
