Netgear A7000 preferred band
I have a netgear a7000 usb wifi adapter, I am trying to select a preferred band of 2.4 ghz. However, the preferred band selestion is missing from the wifi configuration.

You don't set a prefered band for 2.4ghz.
Reason why is the router selects what channel its going to broadcast on and the wifi adapter just connects to that one.
Not 100% as I don't have that adapter but you can usually select whether it prefers 2.4ghz or 5ghz though.
My internal intel wifi card has the ability to select the preferred band of the wifi card. However, this adapter for some reason lacks that ability even though it is duel band.
I don't have that adapter to compare with but you could try the actual wireless adapter forum and see if anyone does.
