Netgear ac1750 ex6250 Wifi Mesh extender

I just purchased a Netgear Ex6250 (ac1750) wifi mesh extender and have a Nighthawk Model R7000P. I thought I had set everything up properly but the Client Link Led will be on for several minutes and than I will look and it will be off. Any ideas what I did wrong in the setup of this device. I would appreciate any help someone could provide.

    The client light is just a led that says if somethings connected to the extender or not. Whatever device was connecting, could be switching back to the router directly as it might be getting a better signal that route.
