Netgear EX6200 Wireless Issues

Hi All,

Hoping someone can offer some assistance. I`ve moved house and where i have setup my Netgear DGND4000, the signal does not reach the bedroom. To combat this issue i have purchased a Netgear EX6200 Extender and set the device up in the lounge. The problem i have is that i can connect mine and my wifes mobile devices ranging from IOS to Android OS and when we are connected to the EX6200`s SSID be it the 2.4ghz or 5ghz mode we constantly get no internet access from our devices. If i reboot the DGDN4000 and the EX6200, sometimes we are able to get internet access for a short time. I know that this looks like a hardware fault with the EX6200 but i have 3 cabled devices (MediaCenter, PS4 and Seagate Central drive) cabled with CAT6 directly to the EX6200 and all of these devices suffer no internet issue`s whatsoever. The media center is hosting the Murmur server for me and at night it stays up the entire time im playing and talking with friends which can be 3 - 4 hours. This leads me to believe that there are no issues with the EX6200 as the onboard NIC`s are communicating with the DGND4000 over the 5ghz mode without any issues. Im at a loss as to what is wrong with my setup. The EX6200 is setup to broadcast both 2.4ghz and 5ghz modes. I have tried changing it to Fast Lane and it made things worse so i reset the whole device and re-set it up. I also noticed that when i turned off the SSID broadcasting from my DGND4000 that the EX6200 struggled to communicate with the router.

Anyone have any suggestions or tips?

    Hello Kornster

I would try to adjust the wireless channel on the router and the Extender to see if that improves the signal of the wireless. Also just to test things you may want to rename the SSID of the extender.
