Netgear Ex7300

Hi

I have a Netgear EX7300. I've set it up via the mywifiext  tool many times (as prefer to have unique SSIDs for the extender), but it keeps on breaking down.

Here is what's happening;

- after setup in mywifiext it works fine, devices can connect and I can access the setting etc

- usually after 12-24 hours it drops all devices and can't connect to it anymore. can't access it via mywifiext  either even when connected via ethernet cable. All lights are green so it should be fine.

- after an on/off or unplug it works absolutely fine again! very annoying! it is useless unless I restart it every day as it drops all connections daily!

Firmware is up to date.

Please help!

 Thanks

As this is an extender, it might help if you told people what is on the rest of the network. What router hosts this extender? What modem/gateway site in front of the router?

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Only a number will confirm that. On-board update checks are not 100 percent reliable.

  • Good point. It is a fairly simple setup, I use the EX7300 to extend wifi of the standard virgin media Hub 3.0 router.

How? Wired (AP mode) or wireless (Extender mode)?
