Hi plemans 

 

Thanks for your response, I had tried recovering via tftp as suggested using the video link but the wireless extender does not seem to read the file and therefore upload, not sure if the extender needs to be in access point mode, however as I cannot adjust any settings on the extender I cannot put it in access point mode..

 

I also tried using the cmd function, again here I get the message that it cannot read the local file.

 

Grateful for any alternative solution.

the extender doesn't upload the file, the tftp/nmrpflash forces it to it. 

did you extract the zip file prior to trying the upload? 

how old is the EAX80? Is it still within warranty?

    Thanks for your response, I got in touch with Netgear Technical Support who agreed after going through some routine tests, factory resets, ipings ( to see if LAN ports were receiving signal) that the unit was defective and have agreed to send me a replacement unit as I am still thankfully covered by Hardware Warranty.
