Netgear Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 - slow wifi with 1 GB service?

Now while in the -same room- as the router (using multiple devices), I will get anything from 600 Mbps down to 149 Mbps download speed, with 8-14 ms ping. (The router reports 901 Mbps speed via the Nighthawk app, and I'm afraid to go upstairs to test the speeds there if it's this bad downstairs).Nighthawk App v 2.31.0.3304MR60 Router Firmware v1.1.7.134
Last speedtest: 939.39 Mbps download / 588.28 Mbps upload. Ping 8 ms.
Signal strength is -27dBm.
The 5Ghz channel is 153, and the # of networks is "4 / Average".Should I move it to another channel? Channel 1 seems to always be a # of 1 or a 2.
