Netgear Range Extender EX2700 Seprate network

You bought the most basic of netgears wireless extenders.
If you're wanting single ssid function, look at netgears line of mesh extenders. They use the roaming protocols to allow the same ssid as the router and allow devices to roam.
You can set the EX2700 with the same ssid as your router but it's going to be "sticky" and not want to roam until the signal is lost entirely.

Amazon do also sell a few other models if i return and exhange it, AC 750 is one they have in stock if this is once that you can use a single SSID function with would you know?
If not ill have a look at mesh extenders as ideally i just want an extended range without 2 seprate wifi connections

AC750 is the speed, not a model, so its tough to tell. But they'll say in the name/tech specs if it supports mesh mode.
